A project of Friends of Lost River Valley
When you walk through the doors of Lost River Yoga, you will make new friends, learn to practice safe yoga poses, and experience the spiritual aspects of yoga philosophy. You will have fun in the process and leave with a stronger, more flexible body and a calmer and more peaceful mind. Find out why so many people are
exploring this ancient tradition of exercising the body and the mind.
Raw Talent Ranch is a place for cyclists to connect with the pure and expansive idylic roads of Hardy County, West Virginia. Whether you’re just discovering the rich rewards the bike brings or you are a racer looking to fine tune form and test your limits RTR offers a challenge set against a backdrop to remember and inspire. Riders are housed at the Lost River Barn, a renovated barn with all the amenities that is ideal for staging and even better for recovering and relaxing after a big day in the saddle. This is our fifth year hosting team training camps and we have been lucky to see some of the top men and woman in the country experience what Lost River has to offer. Be
autiful valleys, sprawling mountaintop meadows, fire roads through the George Washington National Forest and lots of uncluttered and changing scenery is in abundance. There are multiple ride options and each route is it’s own character and adventure.
Trout Pond Recreation Area boasts two beautiful lakes: Rock Cliff Lake and Trout Pond. Relax on a sandy mountain beach or fish for stocked trout while kids splash in the cool waters of Rock Cliff Lake. Trout Pond, home to native Brook trout, is the only natural lake in West Virginia. A designated swimming area, easy lakeside trails, and a children’s playground make this a perfect family destination.
Nestled in the wooded mountains of Hardy County, Lost River State Park encompasses 3,712 acres creating a vacation getaway.
Enjoy an invigorating hike to “Cranny Crow” with its commanding views of the surrounding ridges, stroll around park headquarters or enjoy a book on a park bench under the massive branches of an ancient pine. All of this creates an atmosphere of peacefulness and serenity for visitors to Lost River State Park.
Lost River cabins are open year-round and a perfect setting for winter retreats, getaways, and family and friend reunions.
Tired of the busy city life? Too much traffic and not enough space? Need a break? Maybe some quiet time with a little fun? How about a retreat to the scenic mountains of West Virginia? And while you’re at it, stop in and see us at Hidden Trails Stables for a relaxing, beautiful guided trail ride. Located inside of Lost River State Park and have trail rides that range from a pony ride, for the youngsters, to a 2-hour ride, for the true adventurer. First timer? No need to worry. Most of our riders are first-timers and we are proud to say that almost all return with a smile. Have children? No problem. We take children 7 and older out on the trails with us and for those younger who are just itchin’ to get in the saddle, we take them on a “hand-held” ride on a trail right near the barn.
